Volleyball has done a number of things for me. One, it's taught me how to go for certain scenarios. Two, how to be a team player. And three, how to not be so hard on myself when I don't do what everyone wants me to do.
Volleyball has taught me how to go for things by forcing me too. For example, in school sometimes when the teacher asks a question and nobody raises their hand, I try my best to just go for it and not follow what everyone around me is doing. This relates to volleyball because I used to be nervous to call mine, now I just tune everyone out and focus on myself for a seconde by going for the ball.
I've learned to be a team player because the only way you can win is to cooperate with everyone. This stratedgy is used in my daily life when it comes to reasoning with people. This relates to volleyball beasue you can't hit the ball twice, you can't be a one person show. You have to work together with people instead against to sucede.
When I miss the ball or hit it wrong, I know and can sense that some of the girls get frustrated with me. (I would be too.) This used to make me so angry and pointless towards myself. But then after a few practices, I realised that even though I would hit the ball incorrectly I still was important and needed in the game. This skill of not letting people bring me down has made me have more self value. I still get bumed out sometimes for missing the ball, but I quickly have learned to let it pass.
In conclusion, volleyball has taught me alot towards my everyday life. It has become in a sense my safe place. Volleyball has and is a sport that I eniuly enjoy doing, and that brings me happiness.
